Election Week in the UK culminated in what I’d call Hung Thursday on 6th May 2010. That was also the day I discovered this little gem: Thyme Café. Perched in Broomhill, Sheffield, this little place has the most brilliant concept ever!
The ambience is very relaxed and they have a huge blackboard at one end of the café with the menu of the day chalked out. What do I mean by ‘menu of the day’ eh? Don’t they have a set menu? They have what they call an ‘example menu’ and only some of those items would be prepared that day. So there’s something different each time you walk in the café!!!
The food was delicious – the frittatas, the fishcakes and the parma ham baked chicken. I also need to add: the pecan tart with creme anglaise and pistachio ice-cream was delightful!
Simply can’t wait to go back there soon!
