Random: did you know “gateaux” means “cakes” in French?

Anyway, I followed a tip from @dollz87 because I wanted to get some pastries but wasn’t sure where I could get good ones in the DMC/Dubai Marina/Emirates Hills area. Nestled away amidst the construction behind the JBR Walk, you’ll find Gateaux just next to the HSBC in the Marina.

The pastries are very affordable at around Dhs 12-14 each. What we took was their carrot cake, cheesecake, choco-lemon cake and devil’s chocolate. I liked all of them, although I felt the choco-lemon was overpowered with the lemon taste, so it wasn’t my favourite of the night. I’m surprised I liked the carrot cake though…which is a good thing!

Overall, pastries are good.
