Tea-licious

[2017 edit: This venue is now closed]

Tea. There’s something magical, almost like a spell, when you boil water and throw the infusion of cured leaves into it … *POOF* and it’s a swirling mixture that explodes into a sensory delight.

You can smell it, you can see it, you can almost feel its aroma touching your skin, lingering like a long-lost lover’s scent, clinging to you and never wanting to let go.

Then comes the taste, when you sip, let your tongue dart out and absorb the captivating taste that makes you want it more, and more, like an addict.

I discovered the lovely establishment, Tea 4 U when a tweetup was organised there. It was purely for those who loved tea, lived tea and for whom tea is oxygen. Rows and rows of tea lined the wall – it was like being in tea heaven.

The desserts were pretty decent too; I highly recommend the chocolate tea cake.

As someone who loves chai, I didn’t realize there were so many kinds of tea available.

A kind that blooms…

A kind that turns red…

And chai, good ol’ chai.

…leaving you a happy little tea-lover

So much so, you go back again. You go back again to smell the tea. To taste it. To own it.

And of course… you eat some other yummy things along the way…

And you get some giggles with the milk jug, which is actually a cow. Which pretty much does the impossible by producing milk from its mouth.

Leaving you happy…with some tea. Tea, that magical drink, that intense brew… something that makes everything seem alright.

I really need to try this place, love tea houses and other than Tea Junction, I’ve not really found places where I can just sit down after a long week and unwind with a book. This looks like just the kind of place that would be perfect for that.Lovely pics as always, especially the one with the flower growing!

@foodivaworld I’m not sure if they have that tea (well over 50-60 bottles there!) but I’m hoping they do since they have such a large collection.

@inafryingpan Thanks; the place is small but comfortable.

  7. @FooDiva they do indeed stock white silver needle tea and it is DIVINE!!! I bought a good couple of different teas there about 2 weeks back and we’re absolutely enjoying them. Love the fact that owner is so patient and takes the time to explain the variety of teas and allows you to taste before you buy. Definitely going to be going back there on a regular basis!!! šŸ™‚
